Earth pigment watercolours

An introduction into the process and practice of creating watercolour paints from local rocks, soils and clays.
Within this day-long workshop you will learn:
• How to find and gather colours in your local landscapes
• Different techniques for processing raw natural materials into fine, artist-grade pigments
• Examples of the binders used with pigments to create materials such as printing inks, wax crayons, watercolours or gouache and oil paints
• How to process watercolour and gouache binder
• How to create watercolour paints.
You will create up to three different watercolour paints to be collected at a later date or posted to you once they have dried.
